The Black-Box Murder
We were inspired by the Dutch detective classic The Black-Box Murder, written by Jozua van der Poorten Schwartz under the pseudonym Maarten Maartens. One of the Netherlands' first detective stories, it was published in 1889, two years after the launch of the first Sherlock Holmes. We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to experience a Black-Box Murder Mystery in the writer's own home. A Black-Box Murder Mystery is usually a 21st-century story, originating from the Chinese jubensha tradition.

Each Black Box Murder Mystery (also known as "jubensha") is written for a specific number of players. Make sure your team is complete, or bring a substitute if someone drops out at the last minute.
The Black Box Murder Mystery is played at a table and in a small room in the beautiful Maarten Maartenshuis. The game supervisor is there to guide you through the experience and give you hints if you are thinking in the wrong direction.
You can order refreshments on site during the game, which you can pay for afterwards by debit card only. For business groups, it is possible to invoice the refreshments based on actual consumption.
